Supported Configurations

At Dr PC Fix we have outlined a small number of configurations that we will not officially support. 

This is due to the software configuration being frequently found to be problematic in our experience.  We created this page to refer people to when we start a job that looks like it could be unsupported.

What this means

If we work on an unsupported system, you do not get the "no fix, no pay" guarantee - you are opting to hire us hourly to "attempt" to fix a problem.  Not to be confused with actually paying for a repair.

List of Unsupported Configurations

  • Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows ME
  • Office 2000
  • Mozilla Thunderbird for Email
  • Outlook Express or Windows Mail for Email
  • Outlook 2002/2003 with a PST over 1.5GB
  • Dial Up Internet
  • ClearWire or any other wireless internet (Wi-Fi cannot be guaranteed to work, in any environment, ever)
  • Norton Antivirus, McAfee, any version of these - including their Internet Security products - we cannot make a machine run well with these installed.
